Who first taught you about beauty?

My mom -- she was a makeup artist who worked at a store that was like Sephora. She knew everything about perfume, skin care and makeup. She never let me wear makeup, but I was secretly fascinated, so when she'd leave home, I would play around with hers. And I watched her do her makeup every day.

What was the best tip you learned from your mom?
How to do my lips so you couldn't see the liner.

You're experimental with your look, but is there something you'd never do?
I let hairstylists and makeup artists try anything, but I'll say "I'm not too sure if I like this" if I need to. Because at the end of the day, my face is what's out there, so I have to make sure it's right.

How would you describe your style?
I've been a fashion fanatic since I was little -- looking at all the international magazines. But I used to dress like a boy when I was a kid. I'd wear my brother's baggy pants and his sneakers. Now I like little skull caps, jeans, flat boots that come up to the knees. And then I play around with the top -- a big T-shirt, or a sleek camisole, or a jacket. I love jackets! I have a million.

Who were your style icons when you were growing up?
I was in love with Mariah Carey. I thought she was flawless. I loved Marilyn Monroe's timeless look. And I love everything Madonna does; she switches it up, and that's what I like to do. I hate sticking with the same thing.

What was your biggest beauty disaster?
It probably wasn't a disaster, but I'll never have my hair long and light brown again [as it was on the cover of her first album, Music of the Sun]. It was too generic. At the time I was, like, "OK, I'll do whatever you want me to do." But I love doing edgier things. It just wasn't me. So I had to grow up and figure myself out.

What are your beauty secrets?
Water and rest for my skin -- which helps the elasticity. And Band-Aids, which are great for shoe blisters, as nipple covers, and especially for nail mishaps -- people just think you have a cut or something.

Your nails are a big part of your style. What was your first big nail moment?
I was 4 , and my great-grandma was watching us. I used to give her so much trouble. She probably yelled at me, so I went into my mom's room, took her nail polishes, opened them, and painted "bracelets" up my arm. Then I poured them into a toy hard hat my brother had. When my mom came home, she got really upset. I got scared because I thought, My gosh, I have to go to school like this! Because we never used to have nail polish remover.

Did the star tattoo on your ear hurt?
Yeah, but it's so small. You can't put anything big on your ear, so it didn't take long.

So it took, like, what? An hour?
An hour?! This took three minutes! You obviously don't have any tattoos.

To achieve this look

- Start off with moisturized lips.

- Line lips with a bright red lip pencil such as NYX Slim Lip Pencil in “Plush Red” . Fill in the entire lip after lining. This helps with the staying power of your lip color.

- Apply a bright red lipstick, one that has a hint of fuchsia to it like MAC’s “Impassioned” Lipstick . Apply right over the liner.

The combination of this liner and lipstick will create a perfect imitation of the shade the Rihanna is rocking.

I did get quite a few questions about the top Rihanna wore during her meet and Greet in Toronto I did finally find out who it is by and it is by designer Jeremy Scott from his Spring 2011 collection. Availability wise I’m not sure if they’re still available to purchase when it comes to designers like Jeremy items are quite limited.
